The One Year Master's Degree

For exceptionally prepared students, it is possible to complete the degree in two semesters and two summers. The student must be ready to begin thesis research in June prior to starting coursework. This option is open to students who already have established a research relationship with a faculty member. This option is intended for SDSMT mechanical or electrical engineering graduates who have worked with one of the CSR project teams as an undergraduate (through Senior Design or CAMP) and want a fast track through the CSR MS degree program.

Schedule:

  • * Summer prior: 3 thesis credits
  • * Fall: 12.5 credits (12 credits coursework, 0.5 of seminar)
  • * Spring: 12.5 credits (12 credits coursework, 0.5 of seminar)
  • * Summer following: 3 thesis credits

Coursework requirements are the same as the two year program listed above. Interested students should contact Dr. McGough as soon as possible.
